ROLE PURPOSE: • Responsible for FSL day to day activity implementation in Margibi, Montserrado and Bong counties; • Work closely with community mobilizers, local government offices and the communities; • Provide regular report to the project coordinator regarding updates on project activities in their respective operation areas; • Ensure correct beneficiary selection procedure and criteria are followed by FS community mobilisers • Ensure any feedback from beneficiaries or target communities shared by community mobilisers are responded to appropriately or raised with FSL Coordinator, Advisor or Manager if needed • Support community mobilisers in the planning of their day to day activities; • Coordinate with FSL coordinator and field finance team in the planning of cash distribution dates and locations. • Ensure that beneficiaries are adequately communicated about project activities and plans, including distribution date and conditions required for verification. • Training of community mobilizers and data collectors on PDM tools and price monitoring tools and regularly check the quality of information collected. • Provide regular progress report to the FSL coordinator as per the requirement; SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: FSL Coordinator Staff reporting to this post: Community Mobilisers Direct: Indirect : Budget Responsibilities: N/A Role Dimensions: Works closely with Community Mobilisers, FSL Officers, FSL program coordinator, FSL program manager, Area Manager, Security and Logistics teams, partner organisations and external actors active in the implementation area.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY : • Responsible for development of weekly and monthly plans; • Responsible for facilitating planning meetings with stakeholders and beneficiaries; and sharing project information with relevant local authorities; • Ensure that targeting processes and criteria are understood by community mobilizers, the local community and beneficiaries; • Responsible for ensuring that feedback from communities on project implementation is regularly documented, shared and addressed properly through the appropriate channel; • Work closely with data collectors in collecting regular market information, compilation and reporting; • Conduct regular monitoring of project implementation and report on challenges for timely action; • Regularly consult with field finance, logistics and security regarding the planning of cash transfer activities and ensure that policies and procedures are followed. • Train and support community mobilizers and data collectors on PDM tools, market tools and in the actual collection of information; SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS (SCI Values in Practice) Accountability: • Holds self-accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modelling Save the Children values • Holds the team and partners accountable to deliver on their responsibilities - giving them the freedom to deliver in the best way they see fit, providing the necessary development to improve performance and applying appropriate consequences when results are not achieved. Integrity: honest, encourages openness and transparency; demonstrates highest levels of integrity QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Essential - Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field - Organisation, management and negotiation skills - Good communication skills - Previous experience in humanitarian setting, preferably with humanitarian organizations (minimum 3 years) - Experienced in implementing food security and livelihoods programs - Prepared to work under pressure - Honest and motivated - Knowledge of the project areas (Margibi, Montserrado and Bong) - At least 2 years previous experience managing people - Able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc) Desirable - experience working on cash, voucher or food distributions or other food security programming - able to work with minimum level of supervision - good English speaking and writing Additional job responsibilities The job duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
