The post holder will provide strategic oversight and leadership for the implementation of Alert’s programmes in Liberia, including the SAFE (Security Actions for Everyone) and the CPPE-NRM (Community Platform for Peaceful Engagement – Natural Resource Management) projects. The position is based in Monrovia, but will require extensive travel across target sites in Bong, Lofa, Nimba, Bomi and Montserrado Counties. The post holder will manage one project officer and supervise the work of two local partners, ensuring timeliness and quality of projects activities’ delivery and achievement of the project objectives, as well as relations with stakeholders at all levels. Critical to this post is an ability to build effective external and internal relationships, using collaborative approaches and ensuring technical and managerial support as required. The successful candidate will have impeccable integrity and a solid programme management record, including responsibility for budgets, staff and representation. This position is open to both female and male applicants Salary: USD 2,484 per month (based on International Alert Liberia’s local salary scale) Duration: 1 year (with the possibility of extension, subject to funding)
Relevant thematic qualification (human rights, peacebuilding, governance and/or NRM)  Minimum 5 years’ experience of projects or programme management responsibilities with an INGO, including donor reporting and budget management  Experience building capacity of NGO and other stakeholders at local, County and national level, including peacebuilding  Experience of interaction and representation with UN/International Agencies, Government agencies, private companies and security forces  Strong knowledge of issues around NRM and/or security and justice in Liberia  Ability to form positive working relationships  Fluency in written and spoken English  Innovative, creative, proactive and problem-solving attitude To apply, please send a completed application form and equal opportunities form to , both of which can be found on under ‘Downloads’.
