Description of Job: 
To develop and manage a viable loan portfolio for loan customers; providing them with basic advisory support, selects good clients in line with project lending policies and procedures, helps client to complete loan applications and train clients on project policies and procedures
Manage the client level portfolio lending process  Recruit, select, and orient new clients to the project lending program in compliance with existing lending policies and procedures.  Provide effective customer care services and maintain appreciable level of client retention  Assist potential clients to prepare loan applications and business plans.  Analyze loan proposals and make recommendation to Project Coordinator  Document and report client feedback regarding the lending process  Promote the organization’s credit services in the community Maintain client level portfolio quality, monitoring and control.  Monitor loan repayments based on client’s scheduled repayment date  Follow up loans in arrears.  Ensure daily reconciliation of clients loan repayments with finance officer.  Make recommendations to the project Coordinator regarding repeat loans.  Submit regular portfolio status reports to the Project Officer (weekly and monthly portfolio reports).  Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual performance targets and indicators stated on employment contract are duly attained;  provide regular feedback to Project Coordinator on any foreseeable challenges that may affect the effective accomplishment of stated objectives. Provide basic on-site business advisory support to clients.  Visit client businesses regularly and note any problems or issues.  Carry out quarterly basic business assessments and feedback results to the client.  Refer clients to other entrepreneurs for support and counsel.  Training potential customers on such issues as group formation and dynamics, record keeping, proper loan utilization and mitigation of risks associated with micro businesses;  visit new customers at least once every two weeks for training. Participate as an active member of the overall project team.  Attend bi-monthly staff meetings.  Participate in quarterly and annual branch planning workshops  Provide back-up support to other team members as and when needed.  Other duties as assigned by Project Coordinator.
